What is Skin Cycling?

Skin cycling has become more popular lately and for many great reasons, once you dive into the basic routine, it will all make sense. Skin cycling is basically a 4 step routine:

Night 1 - Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize.

Night 2 - Cleanse, apply a retinol or retinoid, moisturize.

Night 3 and 4 - Recover Nights. Just cleanse and moisturize.

While there are many people that prefer the chemical exfoliants and the retinoids, I have personally enjoyed the plant based retinols as they have been more gentle for my skin type. Also with the preference on how often you like to exfoliate, some can handle it more often but for myself, I exfoliate no more than once a week as our skin naturally exfoliates over time and I do not want to run the risk of over exfoliating or irritating and causing damage to my skin barrier. But the concept behind it has proven well for myself, even with the gentler products and clearly is making a difference for so many. Even if you don't specifically follow the 4 steps, it's always best to incorporate those active ingredients a couple days a week to promote cell turnover and give your skin those rest and repair days and nights with gentle and clean quality products.

Give it a try and remember that these things take time so pick a routine and stick to it and that glow with come soon enough!
